As for the first to third person switch, you can just opt to use normal crouch strafing and stay in first person throughout the game. Thats what cool about this game, not only do you have the choices you can make in game, but also the choices how and if to use the mechanics and options. Sure, a first person lean would have been nice, but its not really necessary.
