It's the same as an expansion. It seemed to work OK for BF2.
I wouldn't really say that. There was maybe one or two decent servers running it in my region that ever had people on it, the rest were empty. Compared to vanilla, SF was like a drop in the ocean.

Besides, SF had new weapons, night vision, grappling hooks, and a lot of other stuff to get people to play it, and still the most use people got out of buying it were the extra unlocks for vanilla. These maps don't have any of that, to our knowledge. Let's just say that I'm highly skeptical that these maps will see any real playing time.
