I think the damning thing was the lack of creativity. Some people were asking me what was shown at E3 and, from a games perspective, it is just newer versions of all the games you were already playing. Get ready for another Tomb Raider, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Zelda, Uncharted, the usual U.S. military shooters, Hitman, Elder Scrolls, etc.
Otherwise, what were the core messages of the respective companies? Sony has a nice handheld, but all the same games. Microsoft is forcing Kinect into all of its games. Nintendo is basically giving you one last reason to play your Wii (Zelda) and then you just have to wait for a new, if not questionable, system next year. A nice handheld tied to a mediocre wireless carrier. There is certainly some good stuff coming, but pretty much all the stuff we knew about or could normally expect.
