its not an all or nothing scenario; rather, the next couple generations of tablets will erode some of the consumer interest in a dedicated TV console. Parents will certainly play a role in this purchase decision. It all depends on how robust the hardware specs of tablets will be in 2012/2013 -- which is when the new consoles come out. I think there's going to be a real pull and tug between the 2 in the retail marketplace.
