EA is in CYA mode, lets blame it on a bug and call it a day

What other plausible reason could there be?
Why would EA want to stop people from playing the game due to the "REPORT POST" button?

This isn't like Valve wanting to stop people selling their games online - that makes some sense from their perspective.
I can't think of a single reason why anyone at EA would desire this outcome, leading me to think it has to be a bug.

Um, maybe becuase it's a control issue all the way around. They figured they could get away with it, they were wrong. You don't seriously believe this is just a programming error than when a mod banned someone from a web forum it froze their entire account across the whole of the EA spectrum? Seriously? If you do I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you cheap.
