I never tried Tilapia until I started dating this Portuguese girl from the Azores. She would bread it and fry it and it was delicious.

Blue, I had the same problem growing, my father would surf-cast all summer in RI and the mainstays were Striper and Bluefish, both of which taste like utter shit due to their dark, oily flesh (particularly Blues). The best fish to have if you have an aversion to a strong fishy flavor is Scrod and Haddock. Both have firm, white flesh and are extremely mild.
