I debated the score for longer than I should. You can certainly argue that it could/should have gotten a 5, but when I compared it to some recent games I did that got a 5, I enjoyed it less, so I scored it less. Don't let the score matter too much: just read the review and decide for yourself, as you did. Too many people put too much emphasis on scores these days, gamers and publishers alike. I just hope I put enough detail in the review so that people can say "what the hell...by what you said it should have gotten a 5 or 6!" and reach their own conclusions based on content, balance, and personal value.
My biggest decisions are usually between a 6 and a 7, since the latter gets you put on the 8/8 games page. |
