Okay yeah, it can happen under some extreme circumstances and a few not-so-extreme ones. By the time you're done with the tutorial you've already got 6+ ships. Then the first arc they send you on brings in enough income to buy about 20 more ships.
I'll amend my earlier statements by saying that flying around high sec is no more dangerous than your average trip to the grocery store. Dangerous isn't the issue; the issue is the game is boring as hell. I wasn't aware they had finally gotten rid of the timesink learning skills, if that's true, at least they're finally improving the game in meaningful ways.
Seriously; if I had spend any more time mining some stupid asteroid belt, I was going to go mad.
And no, I'm not much of a social gamer (what was your first clue?), so don't tell me I should join a corporation/whatever. I wanted a space game with occasional social activity. I don't want it to be forced on me as the only alternative to the mind-numbingly boring opportunities the game presents otherwise.
Don't even get me started on how tedious and boring most of the combat missions were -- especially when you spent more time flying around to each location than actually fighting. |
