I've Got The News Blues wrote on Jun 22, 2010, 05:32: There is no game install. You play the games by streaming the video and sending back a data stream of your controller input. It's just like watching stream video of someone playing a video game except you also control the action. For games with retail versions which have CD keys, you probably don't get one since the game is installed on OnLive's servers, and that key belongs to them if it exists at all since OnLive's games are customized to their servers through their SDK. I wonder how authentication for multi-player games will be handled.
Typically, for example, PunkBuster uses a hash of the cd-key to develop a GUID for banning, admining, and other features. |
