kxmode, good but obvious point. However the level of enthusiasm and money required to keep a PC up to date is much higher than the intelligence required to work out how to plug ones HDMI cable in to two devices. I have just finished ODST and Uncharted 2, great games of a quality that I rarely get on the computer without crashing and extensive tweaking.
I save my PC for when I have enough time to patch, tweak and wrangle with deeper experiences which do not exist on console, such as Total War (Which I know from past experiences will never be patched properly before the next game in the series) Supreme Commander (Still runs like a dog) Company of Heroes (Delightful, but took two years of patching) or Armed Assault 2 (Dog of a game, just like OFP and ARMA, but also worth the trouble, if I have time.)
UC2 and ODST never crashed on me or took me half a day to install and get working or require a new video card (Which costs more than an xbox but less than a PS3 for a fairly middle of the range one). Thats consumer friendly! PC's are still at the stage where automobiles were earlier last century, where only people with money, time and a love of the hobby could really enjoy them despite their superiority to the horse, which was fine for everyone else. |
