Medieval fantasy is mostly dead because people aren't interested in it these days. People want gritty and real, not dragons and elves. Yeah, there are exceptions to this, but even those put a basis in our reality. By and large dragon movies of the past decade have been miserable failures because public interest isn't there. We're just cycled away from that. Even in video games medieval fantasy is a rarity. What dimension do you live in? Medieval fantasy movies fail because they suck, not because people don't want them. Look how well LotR did. The movies that do poorly do so because they suck. Period.
And fantasy in video games a rarity? WTF? |
