When you say it's about awareness, I believe you, only I think that what piracy really makes people aware of is that they can have digital entertanment at no cost; I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of that. What people aren't aware of is the existence of obscure indie games that have little to no marketing. Piracy helps alleviate this issue.
