Torrent clients aren't default installed on OEM systems which comprise the majority of desktop and laptop sales in the world. The majority of users have no idea what BitTorrent is and if you asked them to "just torrent it" they would ask if you're talking about a thick rain downfall. Nothing is easy when you have no idea what it is, how it works or what it does. That's forgetting all of the crap with rar files and so on. I'd love to see an add-on that makes torrents work in Firefox... There may already be one for all I know...but I get the impression that despite how popular Torrents are becoming for legit purposes the RIAA and it's pals would flip the fuck out if torrents were adopted by mainstream America. And I have no doubt that they are working very hard to keep this stuff in the shadows. |
