Re: FileFront Closing |

Apparently someone has never been involved in the nitty grit of business. Over the years I've certainly been involved in running a business. I've just never run one into the ground.
Things like this can happen when you run from projected financial runs of being 'okay' to 'poor' in a week or less. I don't dispute that businesses fail. What I find exceptional fault with though is the way this company is handling that failure. FileFront could have provided more advanced notice of its closure, and it certainly could have made arrangements or solicited offers for its library of files so that they don't have to disappear into the ether.
So yes, suck it up and transfer off what you can. There are too many files and too little time to get anything substantial. I am sure the site will also be hammered in the next couple of days which will exacerbate the problem.
It was a service nothing more, nothing less. It was more than just a service. Over the years it became a vast repository of unique and rare game files created by talented mod authors and users. Shutting it down without sufficient notice to copy that repository and without offer to the public to purchase or otherwise receive that repository is simply inexcusable.
