3 activations is probably more than I'd need. But probably isn't definitely. Who can say what might happen? My computer can crap out during the install process, requiring a re-install. The sectors of my hard drive that contain the game files might become corrupted, requiring a re-install. (This very thing happened to my work PC last week, only it was critical Windows files that inhabited the bad sectors, requiring a format and complete OS re-install).
My daughter's computer has a very small amount of free space on the hard drive, because it's loaded with her favorite music and kiddie games. What if I uninstalled Spore to make room for another game, then she decides she wants me to re-install it so she can play it again (she does this all the time actually)? Another activation used.
I don't expect that I would need more than 3, but if I did, I think it's insulting as all get-out that I would have to call EA with my hat in my hand so to speak and humbly request they deign to allow me to continue playing the game that I legally paid for and hope that I can convince them I am not a thief.
EA, take your game, and your activations, and piss the hell off.
