Keep looking around. Most of the pickup servers I've been playing on have been actually very good for teamwork. Where it isn't working, I split and go elsewhere.
Also do a community search in Steam for the Team Work Movement. It's just a loose association of players who add those TWM suffix to their name to show they're into team work, and they have several servers out there as well.
Also make sure to look at your friends tabs to see when we're playing, me, Bats, PH, et al. all play pretty regularly, and we're big on teamwork.
