I think people who've become very good with a keyboard and mouse find a controller insulting because it makes them a novice at something they took pride in. And it doesn't help getting T-bagged after a 12 year old pwns you. I've put in a fair number of hours with both control schemes. Enough that I can hold my own on-line with both. I find the keyboard/mouse to be much, much better. Playing with a gamepad is like wearing a straightjacket.
