Man, that was ugly |

The HS where I work's football team got honked by their arch-rival last night at our stadium, 34-7. If that wasn't bad enough, things got ugly early on when the stadium was oversold with tickets, and some "home" fans sat in the band's area and refused to move because "they didn't have anywhere else to sit". I asked them nicely to please move, but they basically told me to go to hell. I basically had my drum line stand in front of them so they couldn't see, and had them do our loudest drum cadence for about 10 minutes straight. That moved 'em. And pissed 'em off. After we were done with halftime, I expected squatters to reappear after we temporarily vacated the area due to halftime, so I made arrangements for a uniformed officer to go stand in that area. That solved most of the problem, but there were still a few non-band members (adults) sitting on the fringes.
And if all that wasn't bad enough, my Jazz Band bass player, who isn't part of the Marching Band, showed up drunk, and ran out on to the field during the middle of halftime and dropped his drawers to "moon" the audience, first the home side, then the visitor's side. I thought he would take off running after that, but he came back out in front of the band and started dancing in front of the them. About then one of our vice principals escorted him off the field, and I found out after the game he was expelled. Which means he's gone from our school forever. So now I have no bass player. What an idiot.
