"Diablo 3 will bury this POS! Thanks for coming out, Bill!"
Interesting you say Diablo 3 will bury Hellgate. You most likely know the entire senior staff behind Diablo 1, 2 and the Expansion left Blizzard to create Flagship. A leap of faith that a 3rd Diablo made without any of the previous Diablo senior staff will good enough to trump a game that has been made by previous Diablo senior staff, whom have been quoted to say that their primary target market is Diablo players (hence they've probably designed the game to appeal to anyone that enjoyed the Diablo series).
I also wouldn't be surprised if a future Diablo game was also a pay for play game. Blizzard has tasted the $$$ with WoW, why not bring in their other massive fan base and make them pay large heeps of money for Diablo 3 without taking away from WoW. Blizzard has 3 extremely powerful IP's and they're going to exploit the s*it out of them.
Though despite all this, I'm a little surprised some people are insulting/going off on Flagship. They haven't actually announced anything. Insulting people based on stuff they haven't actually said yet is...well that's the internet isn't it. Never mind.
Edit: To avoid contradicting myself, there is no doubt a Diablo 3 would be extremely successful, free or not for online play. I'm concerned that without the leadership of the people that created the IP, there is a slim chance it will meet peoples expectations. If Diablo 3 were to bury Hellgate, is it because it's actually a good game or is it just because it's called "Diablo".
