I hope they never explain the pilot/space jockey race in alien, its the mystery that makes them interesting. It leaves everything up to your imagination. If they explain it, then it'll just be like "oh ok then, sure whatever, that wasnt so great" They should just drop odd hints here and there that never really explain much but just make you wonder more. Besides, the story isnt really about them anyway.
