One has to think of the savings in travel costs and time out of your day as well here. Living in the city was a pain for me, When a game hit the shelf which I wanted it was always a hour or 2 and a bit of fuel to venture off to the mall. and the frustration of parking. Now I live in the mountains and the nearest EB is over a 2 hour drive away. Steam costs may be more, but It's a lot cheaper for someone in my position. So there is a customer base that does need steam in a bad way.
