Crazy people will always confuse their reality and perform evil acts that normal people won't understand. People have this instinct to want to blame something for random violent acts because they can't deal with the fact that it IS random. People will go insane and kill others... even in a world without video games and media. I'm sure in the middle ages they blamed the meat loaf for acts of violence, or maybe a provocative cave drawing if we look further back. You can't stop insane individuals from getting bad ideas. I'd say the U.S. goverment sets a much poorer example than any movie or video game you can find.
