the 3d patch was released shorty after the official release, i played it with 3d card support and with the patch that enabled quicksave at any point (and not after finishing a level) i had the "luck" that mdk crashes with a soundcard bug every few minutes and it was impossible to finish a level without the help of the quicksave option, btw the patch never leaved the beta status and wasn't it perry telling us in his "gamedesign bible" that a game designer should not decide for the player, when to save the game

? most of his games had no "normal" save option
