Yeah, and I'm sure every alcholic notifies them. Or anyone addicted to prescription drugs, etc.

I believe his point is that if pot is less socially damaging than alcohol (and I'm not going to argue for or against; I don't have the data or experience), then why is it illegal?

And dude, claiming that it's wrong because it's illegal is an utterly absurd argument. Do you always drive the speed limit? Do you obey every single law every single moment? Do you honestly think that there aren't any silly laws out there?

That said... JM, if you work in the financial sector you don't have to deal with random drug tests? Every time I've worked in that sector (and yes, I am a programmer) I've had to go pee in a cup at the start of the job, and there were random tests thereafter (don't think I ever had to).
