And how is a parent - busy as they are - supposed to have the time to monitor every piece of music and video games the kid wants? Christ, the kid doesn't even have enough time for that himself.
This is NOT about irresponsible parents so much as it as industry trying to make a fast buck because they refure to honestly police themselves. wait...huh?
Is the indutry supposed to have say over each and every sale...how its sold and to whom? They've come up with what most rational people agree as a pretty accurate system of ratings to give parents some sort of idea of its appropriateness. Its quite elegant, no cops, no big brother, no fines. In what way is this dishonest? Would it make you feel better if they made zero profits? How would you suggest to better the current system? By once again giving government free reign over an area it has absolutely no business sticking its nose in?
