I think the DHTML wackiness would possibly impact the browser compatibility that Blue strives for. Nah. I've been working on this very thing just lately. There are lots of ways to do it so it's completely cross-browser. If you're willing to have Netscape 4 users just see all of the text, with no option to collapse it, then it's pretty simple. Just a few lines of javascript actually. But if you want to support collapsible text in Netscape 4, say, then it's a real nightmare of layers and browser sniffing and crap.
I'd post a sample but it probably wouldn't display in the comments right.
I just want to add my voice to everyone prainsing you Blue. You do a tremendous job. Blues is the first site I visit everyday. And I get ALL of the best of the web stuff that I send to friends in email at your site. They always ask me where I manage to find this stuff and I tell 'em Blues News! (They think it's some kind of kids show though, I dunno why)
