Why are indoor maps so slow? All the particle effects, bump-mapping and specular sheen are actually increased in frequency when you are in a confined space. Really? So there's more pixel shading going on here:

You DO realize that polygons are made up of those shaded pixels, and MORE textured and bumpmapped polygons equals MORE pixels... so which area is going to have the most polygons - indoors or outdoors???
