Trembling
Hand- Free XP!
What if, next time you fired up your favourite MMO, there was a new
button in the interface. It says "Level up", and every time you press it,
you gain a level, plain and simple. Hit it 49 times, and you're level 50.
Would you press it?

If I got through all of the quest content "for the level", and had to "grind out" the rest by just senselessly killing mobs over and over... yes, I'd hit it.
There's nothing more annoying than being forced to "grind out" the rest of a level, due to lack of content.
Would I hit it 49 times in a row to get to instant max 50?
Maybe with a secondary PVP / Raid / Endgame toon - But only after maxing a primary character the normal way. I think I would prefer a single "max level" button for that, though... that could only be unlocked after maxing 1 character the normal way. Of course, the single "Level Up" button would have to be restricted to being unlocked half to three quarters of a level earned, so people don't hit that thing 49 times in a row.
The downside is... that it would possibly give developers an excuse not to have plenty of content per level... which I also wouldn't like. |
