DOOM 4 Writer Revealed

Computer and Video Games has news that award-winning British fantasy author Graham Joyce is working with id Software to help create the story for DOOM 4, the next installment in id's horror-themes science fiction shooter series. There are no new details on the exact direction the game will take, as all Joyce says about the collaboration is: "I can say that ID have hired me to help develop the storyline potential."

I guess because I took it for exactly what it was, i.e a graphical makeover of UT2k4, I ended up liking it. Sometimes, for some fans that is enough. It certain can be said, however, if you were looking for the next evolution in deathmatch this wasn't it. Like you said, it improved on almost nothing.
