Team Fortress 2 Patch, Free Weekend Underway

Steam News announces a new update is now automatically available for Team Fortress 2, and also that the free Team Fortress 2 weekend is now underway:

A worldwide Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend is now under way! Join now, and play the full game for free, including the new content just released in the TF2: Gold Rush Update.

The Free Weekend is open to players around the world, and there is no obligation to purchase to participate; all that is needed is a Steam account to join.

The Free Weekend ends Sunday, May 4th at 1pm PDT.

So by your logic if you trial a car and then steal it afterwards then it's still a trial? It's piracy - whether it was achieved through downloading a trial is irrelevant.
Once again you have proven yourself to be a complete idiot. I'd tell you again to read and think before you post, but you are apparently incapable of that. Your bogus claim was that the trial wasn't exploitable because no one who downloaded the trial but didn't pay for the game could keep playing it after the trial, and that is simply not true.

The bottom line is that these free weekends are already exploitable for those who want to play Valve's games for free indefinitely. So, your (and Valve's) notion that Valve can't offer an on-demand or more flexible trial because it would be exploited is ridiculous. Therefore, there is no legitimate reason not to offer honest consumers a chance to try a game at a time of their own choosing before they pay for it. The dishonest already have that ability, and there's little or no chance of getting any money from them.
