So I see a TV commercial for a sugar-sweetened breakfast cereal saying a study
demonstrated that kids eating it had demonstrably better academic performance
than those who didn't. In the DVR era, however, it doesn't matter how quickly
you flash you small print on the screen, and going back I was able to see this
miracle is achieved by comparing the cereal-fuelled children's performance
versus kids who had nothing for breakfast. Yes, our standards for nutrition and
honesty have fallen to the point where they brag about the fact that their
cereal is actually food.
