C&C3 Patch

The promised new patch for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is now available, updating the RTS sequel to version 1.04 (thanks Ant and C&C Den). The update is available automatically from within the game, and this page offers downloads of manual patches for the various international editions of the game. The new version makes further improvements to video playback on low-end XP systems, addresses an error that caused crashes and disconnects from online lobbies, fixed an error caused by use of certain characters in names (by removing the ability to use these characters), fixes a desync error while watching BattleCast matches, and makes it so online multiplayer game lobbies will now appear in their properly localized languages.

And Enemy Territory was free. I'm quite aware, I still play it. How does it really affect my comparison? There were 3 patches; one server-side, and one security update really late in it's life. 2.60 just fixed some small gameplay bugs that were present in ETPro. Free or not (even though most of it was developed under the auspices that it was going to be retail) it was still a very solid release. Very slowly also can be few and number. T:V came to mind: minimal support, but terrible.
