Out of the Blue

Happy Independence Day! Last night our house was shaking from a nearby fireworks show that was by far the loudest and most enduring such exhibition since we've lived in this area. As usual, this traumatized Hudson the wonder dog, who at varying times tried hiding in the basement and my office to escape the chaos. We can only hope that this was the main show, and we won't get a repeat performance tonight. Gunnar, on the other hand, doesn't seem to even notice the explosions.

BTW, rain cancelled the beer can chicken experiment, but the brined chickens came out great from the conventional oven anyway, so here's a thumb's-up for the whole brining thing.

SNAP - another squirrel. 5 down - I got back from releasing him, and there was another one sitting there looking at me. So the trap goes back up - I hope to get 2 more today.

If you collect 15 of them, I think you can trade them in for magic staff at the merchant.
