Last week our village planted a new tree in front of our house (it takes a
village to raise a tree?). This was a pretty elaborate process, involving
several men and a backhoe to transplant this 15 foot tall sapling (too bad the
Smurfs missed the beauty of nature in action), I'm guessing this would cost an
awful lot of money to get a nursery to do this. The weird thing is that this is
on the same strip of earth as our existing tree, which is fairly large and
mature. We think we figured this out yesterday in chatting with our neighbors,
however, as they had a tree removed by the village recently, so we think this
new one may have been a replacement that was planted in front of the wrong
house.
