What is everyone's hangup on 4 maps?
Two important things:

First, Valve released Day Of Defeat: Source about a year after it was supposed to be ready, and yet it only had four maps in it. That is far too few given the amount of development time, and the fact that the game is a port of the previous one.

Second, Valve charges $20 for Day of Defeat: Source when it only has four maps in it. That is $20 more than free game demos many of which come with a couple of maps or more.
