BF2: Special Forces Downloads - New EA Service

This Battlefield 2 Update (thanks Frans) announces that Battlefield 2: Special Forces is available for purchase and download online, with the game available for pre-download as of now. This release of the BF2 expansion kicks off a new digital distribution service from EA that's strikingly similar to Steam, Valve's way of circumventing traditional publishers like, well, EA. Word is that those who preload will be able to play the game on November 22 at 1:00 pm EST, suggesting the add-on is near complete, if not actually gold.

Semantics

The thing is that spam is so incredibly cheap that you don't need a very high rate of moronism in the population to be profitable. Developing and distributing games is much more expensive, so they need a higher rate of success.
