Wow, nothing like having your team ravaged on national TV like last night. As a
Giants fan I've grown to expect this... Though last week's Monday Night Football
dealie was an exception, the team has never been Kenny Stabler clutch on the
national stage. The term that comes to mind in describing the secondary at this
point is "exposed."

Get rid of clipping rules and people will get hurt like crazy. Seriously.
I've heard this particular penalty called at least 700 times so far in two years, and I've yet to see a guy not get up, but I agree that it's dangerous to shove a guy in the back. However, the penalty doesn't appear to be any kind of deterrent, so then they just need to make it a 25 yard penalty or something. Right now all it's doing is annoying the fuck out of everybody with it being called on every single punt / kickoff.
Spearing is illegal as well. It just doesn't seem to get called as often. Quite often players will get fined for that on Monday.
Exactly. So what the fuck are the refs looking at? Last night I saw some VERY blatant spearings ON THE BALLCARRIER. If the ref doesn't see that, where is he looking? Between the chearleaders' tits?
The Eagles are reporting that Akers was kicking fine on Friday and in the pre-game warmups he kicked a 60yd field goal that was good with no twitch to the hamstring. Maybe that had something to do with their reliance on him?
Possibly, but then again, so what? I understand they let him kickoff, but he already hurts himself on the first kickoff. Then he probably toughs it out and does the 2nd kickoff too. Then he goes down screaming in pain on the 2nd kickoff, and you KNOW he's severely hurt his hamstring. I mean, he was CRYING when McNabb helped him off the field. It's not often that an NFL player will actually CRY, so you know he's in pain.
So where is your replacement kicker?? What, did they save themselves a plane ticket by leaving the guy home or something? Oh wait, they played AT HOME. I think it's disgusting they didn't have anyone. That's just pisspoor personnel management right there.
