I'm sorry, I just don't hold to the "Well, I didn't know." excuse. It doesn't work for any other portion of the law (but officer, I didn't know there was a 60mph speed limit here! Officer, I didn't know the gun was loaded!), why would it hold in this instance? People know that there is always a speed limit, so "I didn't know what the speed limit was" is not a fair excuse.
If people have no idea that their wireless router could be causing interference, you really need to lighten up. I'm fairly computer savy, and I wasn't really aware of needing to manually change channels before you mentioned it. I had no problems when I was running two wireless routers in my home (when switching from cable to DSL). I didn't have to do anything to make the connections not interfere.
