Act of War: Direct Action Patch

A new patch is now available for Act of War: Direct Action, updating Eugen System's modern warfare strategy game to version 1.04. In addition to bug fixes, tweaks, and other enhancements, this patch also includes a new Alcatraz multiplayer map. The download is available from Atari Support and mirrored on 3D Gamers, Boomtown (registration required), FileFront, Gameguru Mania, GameSpot DLX (registration required), Happy Puppy (registration required), and Worthplaying.

Overall it's a decent RTS. Nothing really new, but it leaves a lot of things open for strategy. For instance, you can garrison buildings, as well as put units on the roofs of buildings. Just playing around one night, I tried to move a mortar squad to the top of a building, but they couldn't move there like the normal infantry. So, for shits and giggles, I loaded the mortar squad and 2 snipers into a blackhawk and air assaulted them onto the top of the building. It's those little things like that that I find out just by playing around, to see if it's possible, and finding out it is, that make the game fun for me.
