SOLDNER: Secret Wars Ships to Retail heralds the North American availability
of Wings Simulations' first-person shooter:
Los Angeles, CA - June 22,
2004 - Encore, a majority-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation (NASDAQ: NAVR)
and Austria-based JoWooD Productions Software AG, today announced that Soldner™:
Secret Wars has shipped to retail stores in North America.
Featuring fully destructible 3D environments, traditional multiplayer FPS
players will find their tactics sorely tested in Soldner; buildings can be
reduced to rubble by missile or cannon attack, a series of well-placed C4
charges, or even by having a tank dropped on it from helicopter. With the
available Commander Kit, an elected squad leader can access an overhead view of
the total map in Commander Mode, identify and designate enemy targets to his
team, and a well placed volley of ordinance reduces the area and (targets) to
kindling.
Developed by Wings Simulations, this team based tactical FPS pits up to 32
online mercenaries against each other on a virtual battlefield measuring over 18
million square miles (in scale), created using actual satellite topography.
Players will have access to a lethal arsenal of over 60 personal weapons
incorporating handguns, automatic rifles, sniper rifles and launchers, all based
on current military technology. Teams will also have access to over 70 assault
and transport vehicles, including helicopters, jets, trucks and tanks.
