Frontline Reports from the Invisible War

Following the release of the demo for Deus Ex: Invisible War (story), a Delay Deus Ex: Invisible War Petition is online (thanks Scott) hoping to forestall the shooter/RPG sequel's release until some issues are ironed out, an effort that is probably futile in light of the game's gold announcement (story). In response to the types of complaints found in the petition, a post to the ION Storm Forums by Chris Carollo addresses some of the points made by detractors, and offers an unofficial Dxinvisible War Demo FAQ explaining why things are handled as they are, and outlining a few settings that can be tweaked.

In a world where the vast majority of computer and video game profits are made with PS2 games, PC gamers should be happy if they get straight console ports of AAA titles. I am personally glad to see this outcry because it may sensitize developers to the importance of providing a demographic aware gameplay experience across platforms in the future, even though its most likely wishful thinking. On the other hand, if the big publishers neglect the PC market, it will give an opportunity to independent studios with new ideas rather than sequels and licenseware, so thats a good thing too.
