Out of the Blue

This week marks the start of the annual E3 Expo, and as has been the case the past few years I will be observing the proceedings from the Blue Tower. It is with regrets that I do not attend, as my wayward youth in video arcades laid a groundwork of love for such chaotic environments (I often liken the E3 floor to the insides of a pinball machine), but I learned long ago how much easier it is to cover the show remotely rather than from within the show. I really do need to figure out how to attend again one of these years... last night I had an E3 dream, which is not a good sign.

Stories of the Day: To Err Is Creative in Net Art.
Before Friday Comes Spamday.
Wife arrested in aroma assault.
Wild Science: Lunar eclipse due this week.
Weird Science: The Evelyn Wood of Digitized Book Scanners (NY Times free registration required).
Follow-up: Did Microsoft Steal The iLoo Concept?
Thanks Mike Martinez.

Art is whatever moves you, and the critics be dammned. A book, painting, sculpture, photo, etc.
The litmus test is how you respond to it, and the value you assign to it. Great art is just something that appeals to a broad spectrum of people, because it touches on a commonality shared by our species. That's all.

E3! Looking forward to this E3 like I haven't looked forward to E3 in years. I think you're nuts for not going this year Blue.
