A new Kickstarter Campaign is underway for Telepath Tactics, Sinister Design's multiplayer game set in the Telepath RPG game world that was announced earlier this year. The game just recently suffered a likely delay, and the explanation of why they are seeking a relatively modest $25,000 kickstart ties into that: Every single thing you read in the section above is currently in-game and working. There is no question about whether this project is too ambitious to complete: it isn't. The lion's share of the really tough stuff is already done. I just need more resources to give the game all the content and polish it needs.
SO, WHAT DO YOU NEED $25,500 FOR?
I've crunched some numbers, and $25,500 is the bare minimum amount of money it will take to finish Telepath Tactics to my satisfaction. (Please note that I am not counting wages for myself in this figure. I don't want a salary; I just want the money to get this thing done right.)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/g3studios/thorvalla-an-rpg-by-guido-henkel Looks somewhat interesting, but with 19 days remaining and not even 50k raised of 1 million goal, it doesn't look as if it's going to make it short of a major earth quake. It's an interesting side of Kickstarter, really.. Get off to a slow start and you're screwed, because only the biggest enthusiasts are going to bother chipping in when a project seems unlikely to reach- or exceed its funding goal.
Meanwhile, it seems like GODUS will make it. A more modest goal than the above, but still, it's surprising to me that people are actually backing that one with Peter Molyneux name being attached to the project. |
