Not sure, but I think we're going to end up at a Brooklyn deli at some point today for some pastrami. I hope it works out, as it's been too long, and pastrami withdrawal is not a pretty sight.

I would suspect now that most places just purchase their Pastrami from some distributor; and there is nothing special about most of Pastrami in New York delis. I'll ask the next time I'm there. I'm guessing you're wrong, but I can't say for sure. Think we used to have one here called Manny Hattan's but it closed. There's just too much of a barbeque culture here, not sure there are any spare briskets.
