Not sure, but I think we're going to end up at a Brooklyn deli at some point today for some pastrami. I hope it works out, as it's been too long, and pastrami withdrawal is not a pretty sight.

I would suspect now that most places just purchase their Pastrami from some distributor; and there is nothing special about most of Pastrami in New York delis. I'll ask the next time I'm there. I'm guessing you're wrong, but I can't say for sure. I hope I am! Trying local varieties of stuff is just awesome. Variety is king.
I am sure there has to be some that make their own, and some that do the whole distributor thing.
You should indulge and visit as many delis as you can, and get their pastrami and ask them and compare, etc! See, research is cool! |
