FTL: Faster Than Light is now available from Steam, where this space combat strategy game is being offered for 10% off over the next week. Word is:

In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions.

This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.

FTL FTW! Seriously, though... I've played through like 10 times since yesterday already. First few I rushed through each sector, terrified of the rebel wave behind me. When I finally made it to the Last Stand... I got annihilated. Now I jump through as many locations as I can, skimming right in front of the wave, upgrading like mad. Now when I get to the end... I still get annihilated! Man, this game is hard! Still, you've got to love the variety and the strategy. Just unlocked a cloaked ship... gotta go!
