I can agree with that. Though I haven't stepped foot in gamestop in years the last time I went I was disgusted by their service. Their employees are incompetent and have no knowledge of games whatsoever. I called the other day because I wanted to know if they had FFXIV in stock and they say "Uh, FFXIV hasn't been released, they released FFXIII-2 last year but it will be a while until FFXIV is released" I laughed and told him it's been out for two years now and he says "oh you mean the PC game?" Fucking moron. This is why nobody takes the games industry seriously, it's all run by idiots.
It doesn't help they will buy 6 month old games at $9 and sell them back at $55, or take off the shrink wrap from the new game RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, before actually giving you the game you purchased.
Fuck Gamestop, but more importantly fuck the people who shop there. You are supporting a terrible company. Stop trading in your games to these leeches. You are the reason why you get no money for your trades-in, because you gladly sit back and take it because you must have the latest Madden or Call of Duty each year.
Two companies I wish would go bankrupt are gamestop and ticketmaster. Both corrupted fucking entities that monopolize entire industries with their shitty practices.
Oh to work at? Never worked there, never will, but as a customer I can tell you I hate them with a fiery passion.
Oh here is another funny story about Gamestop. Back years ago when the Wii first released I camped outside overnight Gamestop to get it. There was an employee who worked there also doing the same. Before the store opened in the morning the manager told the employee he couldn't buy one because they were reserved for customers. Apparently Gamestop's employee's money is less valuable than that of a non-employee. |
