The Diablo III Website has word that the new version 1.0.3 patch is now live for the action/RPG sequel in the Americas, offering the complete patch notes explaining what it does. There's a story on Kotaku (thanks nin) based on forum posts suggesting there is a problem collecting XP on the digital editions after patching. We have not been able to replicate this here, but the solution suggested in the forums is that this is fixed by changing your password if this happens to you.

Verno wrote on Jun 20, 2012, 09:13: I spent some time with it last night with some friends, most of them uninstalled at the end of the evening. My one buddy was furious with the magic find changes, he had spent a lot of time and money getting together a decent MF+DPS set. My other friend was a monk who said the game is too slow without the IAS and is going back to the faster paced Diablo 2. A few of my other friends said they will give it a chance but didn't really play much after an hour so I expect they will peter out.
I'm a bit more tolerant but I can't see myself playing much without my RL friends. They hit DH way too hard too, the NT nerf was a bit absurd and poorly thought out as the skill is now useless. It had a smaller AoE than Ball Lightning but did more damage, it seemed like a fine trade off.
I don't know, they are really fucking up this game IMO. The constant farming nerfs don't really make sense - how is running elites any better thematically than running bosses or chests? People are always going to try to find the path of least resistance to get items as that's what the game is all about - getting cool items. They seem intent on stopping any form of fun that is unapproved. I don't care if Batman wants to run pots 24/7 for gold, how does that affect me? This game doesn't even have PvP right now, they don't need to fine tune balance/economy like WoW. Why don't they just update Warden and actually go after the people causing the problems with automation software?
The repair cost stuff is just fucking dumb. People shouldn't have to sit there like an accountant, weighing their debt to income ratio to worry about if they can afford another Butcher run or not. I'm a bit incredulous they thought this would fly in a videogame where they are selling currency too. Your friends are a little high strung if they uninstalled the game.... |
