Your are preaching to the converted. It's just that is very easy to see how in an environment of low education, low income, and with nobody around that has web-access you would never understand the value, someone would need to guide you to get it. (I mean, to get what the value is).
It's just that DSL Reports was just quoting the study, literally, so there was no point to link to DSL Reports at all.
Personally I think the Internet is the greatest achievement of the entire human race (Yes, greater than the moon landing or the ISS). After us may be a lot of stuff, but the web will never go away. Sure it will transform and change, but it will never disappear. It is one of the grandest things humans have ever done. And someone who refuses to use it is... not going to relevant to the world for much longer. You can't even get jobs without Internet anymore here. (well, or you have to physically go to a job center who then just look at their internet list and give you a job offer..).
And actually it is only 10% that refuse, the other 10% are above 65 and .. well at that age you have a hard time understanding this new fangled tech nonsense. For us it will be different, we grew up with this technological environment, with the web. No matter how old we get, we will always consider it an important thing to have.
Speaking of ground breaking development, the next great thing humans are about to do are obviously proper robots for home care and household stuff. Even shopping and driving. There will be a time when not having a robot makes you look like you don't get it. So never say you won't be that 10% in another 20 or 40 years... ,p |
