I'm terrible about this. Frankly I don't give a crap about the environmental effect of my 4 PC's left running all night in my computer room (if the ecosystem lives or dies on whether or not I shut my computers down at night then it's already doomed), but I am killing my electric bill for sure. I can't get my kids to turn theirs off before bed no matter how many times I ask, and when I'm working I sometimes don't even go in there for days at a time. They're those high end gamer cases too that are lit up like Xmas trees and loaded with case fans. My electric company sends me a nice Xmas card every year though..
